Weddings and Bespoke Stationery

I love to work with couples to create bespoke stationery that is unique, tailoring the designs to their personalities and inspirations. I believe in creating stationery that is a work of art in itself, making designs that are special and that can be treasured for years to come.

As well as creating designs for Wedding invitations and RSVP cards, I offer calligraphy services including bespoke place settings, envelope addressing, and table plans to name a few!

Chess made the whole process of designing and creating our wedding invitations completely stress free. It was really fun coming up with ideas and then seeing them being brought to life in a way that was even better than we had imagined. Chess took great care in making sure we were happy with the results and was in communication with us the whole time, sending sketches and alternative layout ideas to choose from. We absolutely love our save the date magnets and invitations and they are something we can keep forever as a reminder of our special day.

Design and Process

To create your bespoke stationery, I feel it’s important to begin with some research, and have a good chat over email or phone regarding your colours and inspirations for your big day.

• Quotation - After initial discussions, once I know the amount of individual stationery products you require, I can give you a quotation for design and printing. I am able to manage the whole printing process, and we can look into various paper and envelope options which will be included in the quotation. We can also look into specialised printing processes such as foiling to add a touch of luxury to your design.

• Visual research - I will conduct visual research into imagery which can help with the design process. It is also helpful for you to send through any images to me that can help the design process. For example any images that inspire you and your ideas for what you would like your stationery to look like.

• Initial ideas - I will create 2 - 3 sketched concepts and send them through to you. We will then develop the final sketched design from your thoughts after seeing the initial ideas.

• Design - Once you are happy with the sketched design, the next stage will be for me to illustrate and design the stationery. It is absolutely fine for amendments/tweaks to be made once I have sent this through to you. It is important to me to ensure we get the design to be a perfect fit for you!

• Printing - I will then send the designs to print. The papers used for printing are high quality and printed in the UK by professional printers.

I would advise getting in touch with me at least 6 weeks before you intend to send out your invitations, to ensure they are with you on time. However if you are on a tight deadline I will try my best to make sure we can get the design process completed within your time frame.
